Connor's Dream Team
Welcome to the TEAM
Six year old Jack will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Red Sox game on Friday May 2nd, 2008. Jack is very excited to be honoring his big brother Connor in this way.
Last year while Jack and I were watching the 2007 World Series Jack asked if all the people at Fenway Park knew that his big brother Connor had died, but had fought a very hard battle. I wanted to be honest so I told him no, probably not. Jack looked at me for a long time and said "Dad, I wish there was a way that we could tell the Red Sox and all the Red Sox fans at Fenway that my big brother had died and that he was a huge Red Sox fan and watched every game...even while he was sick in the hospital".
The next day Jack and I wrote a letter to Larry Lucchino telling him the story about Jack wishing he could honor his brother in this special way. The results of that letter are below:
After the 2 1/2 hour rain delay the game got underway.
Please see the pictures below of Jack throwing out the Ceremonial First Pitch at Fenway Park.
We included some pictures of the Red Sox batting practice beforehand as well.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen for Jack.
Jack greatly appreciates being able to tell Connor's story in this way.
Thanks for all your support, messages and prayers!
